Lacretia Dye

Dr. Lacretia Dye is a faculty member, mental health professional, and community-engaged scholar at Western Kentucky University whose work focuses on women’s mental health, embodiment, and holistic well-being across the lifespan. For more than 20 years, she has facilitated wellness groups, educational programs, and healing spaces for women and girls, supporting identity development, resilience, and empowerment.
Her work is grounded in an integrated bio-psycho-social-spiritual framework that combines evidence-based practice with community-engaged scholarship. Dr. Dye’s teaching and research explore women’s experiences across key life stages—including menstruation, perimenopause, and menopause—while addressing stigma, promoting cyclical awareness, and advancing mental health. She has developed innovative courses on women’s mental health, stress and trauma, and menopause, and her scholarship includes The Sacred 7: A Simple Blueprint for Inner Peace, a framework designed to strengthen women’s internal resources and overall well-being.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Dye partners with schools, nonprofit organizations, and the Warren County Public Library to provide workshops and programming on women’s health, mental wellness, and menstrual education. Her work has been supported through grant-funded initiatives, presented nationally and internationally, and featured on podcasts focused on women’s mental health. She also facilitates free virtual meditation sessions and women-centered yoga classes and serves as a Menstruality Justice and Inclusion Educator with Red School, contributing to global conversations on women’s wellness, leadership, and healing.
