Charlie Hueber<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Charlie Hueber is the former long-time Dean of Students at Schreiner College in Kerrville, Texas. He’s currently the Executive Director of the Comfort Area Chamber of Commerce in Comfort. Texas where he brings more than two decades of leadership experience in higher education, nonprofit management, and community development.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Santa Fe, Dr. Hueber served as Executive Director of the Comfort Area Chamber of Commerce, where he led strategic planning efforts, strengthened membership engagement, and oversaw major community initiatives.<\/p>\n

His work has focused on business retention, small-town revitalization, and building collaborative partnerships across both public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

Dr. Hueber has also held senior leadership roles in higher education, including serving as a Chief Student Affairs Officer. He holds a Doctor of Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University. His professional experience centers on strategic growth, crisis leadership, and organizational development.<\/p>\n

A collaborative and hands-on leader, Dr. Hueber believes economic development succeeds when it is rooted in relationships, transparency, and a long-term community vision. He is committed to supporting local businesses, attracting new investment, and strengthening Santa Fe\u2019s economic future. <\/p>\n

He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a Master’s in Counseling and Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was the Dean of Students at Schreiner University for over 10 years, where he coordinated and supervised all aspects of student affairs, from activities and housing to counseling and wellness. I also have multiple certifications in emergency management from FEMA. He’s skilled in business strategy, communication, educational leadership, and nonprofit organizations.<\/p>\n

Previously he was very active in the Texas Association of College Personnel Administrators (TACUSPA) and with several roles on the regional and national level with the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). He has worked in higher education for over 15 years at Trinity Valley Community College, Georgia Southern University, and Stephen F. Austin State University. He has served as a speaker and consultant to a variety of universities and businesses in leadership development, customer service and social integration. He has also published numerous articles on leadership, school spirit, and marketing. His main research interest lies in social integration and its impact on college success. He has helped to develop multiple transition camp programs around the country and has long been an advocate for spirit and traditions programming. <\/p>\n
